In South Africa, US stocks open at 3:30pm and close at 10pm SAST. That holds until Fri 30 October 2026.
From Mon 2 November 2026: 4:30pm to 11pm SAST, because the clocks change.
The New York Stock Exchange's regular session, 09:30–16:00 New York time, runs 3:30pm to 10pm SAST in South Africa until 30 October 2026, according to TradingLookup's Market Clock (October 2026).

Daylight saving: why the US time moves in South Africa
- New York's clocks go back an hour on Sunday 1 November 2026.
- New York's clocks go forward an hour on Sunday 14 March 2027.
- South Africa doesn't change its clocks, so only New York's change moves the times: the US session starts an hour later in SAST from Monday 2 November 2026.

On an 08:00–17:00 SAST working day (our convention, not a rule), until 30 October the US session overlaps it from 15:30 to 17:00 (1 hour 30 minutes); from 2 November the US session overlaps it from 16:30 to 17:00 (30 minutes).
